Seeking Prayers and Well-wishes - Foxboy - 10-04-2011 My mother just got a call from a hospital in Florida for a kidney transplant. [Massive shock, she'd thought she'd dropped off their list as we're ... not in Florida.] Spent the last half hour or so freaking out getting stuff packed for my folks so my brother can take them down. The flight leaves at 7 am and he'll be here in minutes to take them to the airport. (He had the best "saved vacation days" total of the three of us siblings.) Here's hoping things go well. --Fox ''We don't just borrow words; on occasion, English has pursued other languages down alleyways to beat them unconscious and rifle their pockets for new vocabulary.'' -- James Nicoll - CattyNebulart - 10-04-2011 I hope the operation goes well. Best of luck to your mother. E: "Did they... did they just endorse the combination of the JSDF and US Army by showing them as two lesbian lolicons moving in together and holding hands and talking about how 'intimate' they were?" B: "Have you forgotten so soon? They're phasing out Don't Ask, Don't Tell." - Bob Schroeck - 10-04-2011 Yes, best wishes to her for a successful transplant and recover from Peggy and me. -- Bob --------- Then the horns kicked in... ...and my shoes began to squeak. - robkelk - 10-04-2011 May whichever deity or deities you believe in watch over your mother. -- Rob Kelk "Governments have no right to question the loyalty of those who oppose them. Fortunately, the circumstances of the donor allowed for such. *fingers and toes crossed* She's due out at approximately 12:30 am and, presuming all goes well, will be staying down there for about a month until she's cleared to come home. Now I just gotta work out how I'm gonna get down there for some help for em... Thanks _____ DEATH is Certain. The hour, Uncertain... - Foxboy - 10-06-2011 And the Hits just keep coming. Today, my dad fell and hit his head while on his way to see my mother. Fortunately, he was in a hospital at the time. Unfortunately he hit his head HARD and lost a few days, at least temporarily *knocks on wood*. Fortunately, they found an aneurysm before it ruptured and killed him. Unfortunately, I now have to try to scrape together about $3k to get down there and cover food, lodging, transit, missed work, etc. *sigh* ''We don't just borrow words; on occasion, English has pursued other languages down alleyways to beat them unconscious and rifle their pockets for new vocabulary.'' -- James Nicoll - Jinx999 - 10-06-2011 Ahh. given my handle, I'm not going to wish you good luck, but you do have my deepest sympathies. - Foxboy - 10-07-2011 ROAD TRIP. I'm hitting I-95 in a couple hours to get to Jacksonville. 300 some in gas and tolls is TONS better than 3k in rentals, etc. So. Yeah.
