Possibly a dead fic, but an interesting premise and decently written:

Shinji The Mighty
Because being an Eva pilot just wasn't enough, fate causes Shinji to become stuck with an interstellar police officer named Birdy, who's on the trail of equally out of this world criminals. SERIOUSLY stuck. Evangelion/Birdy the Mighty crossover.
Complete. Also, I haven't seen any Birdy the Mighty (although since Rightstuf is having a sale, I've now gone ahead and ordered Decode) and had no problems following the fic.

If you become a monster to put down a monster you've still got a monster running around at the end of the day and have as such not really solved the whole monster problem at all.

De-lurking because this Familiar of Zero/Exalted crossover blew me away:

You won't regret it. Decode (and its sequel) are both quite good.

Uchiha Mikoto decides to take Naruto under her wing, and events spiral from there:

Unusually for the genre, Naruto is mostly just a catalyst for change on Mikoto's part, and she is very much the main character.

Wrong thread, Timote -- but don't feel bad, I've done the same thing myself a time or three.

Sounding like it belongs in Crossovers That Should Not Be...

CSIBig Grineath by Chocolate: "CSICharlie and the Chocolate Factory DeppMovie crossover. A young man is found in the desert, having been drowned in chocolate. Who would want him dead, and what does he have to do with a reclusive chocolatier from London?"

There's a couple bits that I find dubious, but for the most part it's a pretty enjoyable CSI story.

Oh, I remember that one. It was recommended here some years ago. Excellent story.

So it the 'pray you've read/watched the series involved or end up confused' genre.... those just never end with children complaining "...and the masters dead again!"

Even not being TERRIBLY familiar with the original work in question, knowing what I DO know of it, I was able to figure it out before the reveal.

Oh, I figured that out already from what was posted here. I'm just annoyed since I pronounced "Asa" as "Ay-sah" insted of "Ah-sah"; had I done the latter I would have gotten it.
