I have to agree with him here. $600 per person? C'mon, Canada managed $600 per person per week for six months (but no money for people whose income didn't drop). Is the USA poorer than Canada?

Secret Service Has No Plan if Trump Refuses to Go.
Despite the title, it's not bad news - more an enumeration of the things Trump can't use to avoid leaving. The headline is accurate, although that's mainly a tactic they're using to avoid giving him ideas, and to keep from being whipsawed by whatever he does try. The final line of the article is more or less what we've been speculating -- if he refuses to go, they're expecting they'll have to drag him out.

It should work that way.
I mean, the entire point of the 5th Amendment is to establish that somebody cannot be compelled to incriminate themselves for something they may be punished for, but if the government has already established no (further) punishment will follow for the matters under consideration... It's not that dissimilar to exchanging immunity for testimony in Congress.

And the answer is a qualified yes. The following comes from The Washington Post (here; if you've used up your free reads at the Post this month, Google Cache is your friend):

And you can be sure that while prosecutors are thoroughly aware of this, it may have escaped Trump entirely.

Meanwhile, Trump wasn't smart enough to pocket veto the defense bill, forcing a vote to override next week. We know that both houses of Congress passed it with veto-proof majorities, so unless improbably huge numbers of Republicans defect (which is unlikely to happen for the same reason they defied Trump and voted for it in the first place), Trump's just set himself up for another humiliation.

It would be a complely insane thing for him to do.

It is a matter of public knowledge that the Pentagon has plans on file should you ever need to invade Canada. They have plans for everything.
Plans for what to do if an ex-President refuses to leave? No doubt those were written long ago - and updated every so often. Gotta keep the officers attending classes at the War College busy somehow.

On the bright side, if the Trump regime has proved anything, it's that there is no secret cabal running things from the shadows - any group competent enough to stay hidden that way would also have been able to keep him from doing this kind of damage to the system and to public confidence in it.
