As it is a Joe Hundredaire work, there are of course obligatory lesbians -- how's a Lily/Narcissa pairing for you, with Lily cheating on a cold and distant James? And as noted above, Hermione is already planning on gunning for other girls as soon as her hormones kick in. If you don't mind -- or get off on -- Joe H's fascination with making straight female characters into lesbians, this is a pretty good rewrite so far. Seconding the recommendation, at least as of now -- if it goes south I'll rescind my vote.

This is a completed fic by the author of 'Echoes of the Fallen', a Buffy fic where Xander dressed as Magneto for Halloween...that one was tracked on these boards, so that gives you an idea of his/her writing quality. This is pretty good. It's basically a buddy movie with witty banter. The amount of sarcasm the characters in this story sling at each other is amazing - the writer has a really really good eye for dialogue.

This one is sort of a fic, close enough that I'm reccing it anyway: We can still blame it all on Admiral Janeway: Let's Play Star Trek Online
The LP follows Ensign Isshan Korvat, the first Cardassian in Starfleet, and his crew of rejects, weirdos and Starfleet Intelligence moles as they ricochet back and forth across the Federation, trying save the galaxy. Most of the fun in the LP - STO turns out to be kinda dull and grindy in places - comes from the story posts and the thread participation. The story so far makes for a more compelling Trek tale than most other fanfic. Highly recommended.

Xander Harris, author standin (who in no way resembles Xander Harris, BtVS character) berates Harry Potter characters for character flaws never actually demonstrated in the actual books (well, except Malfoy).
