It's important to remember that the operators were either self selected or chosen by the first one, and when you add in the assists for the positioning of the body, and the vocal filter... The feedback could present definite a convergent psychological force. Who doesn't talk a bit more like a Starfleet officer if they dress up for Halloween or a con?

In general, no one suspects 75 Tesla fields ANYWHERE. I think that Gretchen may have a bit of a bias there.
