- firvulag - 12-20-2008 Stared adding a slightly edited version of the Port Phobos thread, will finish tomorrow after sleep. Defined the events as happening in 2015, the year after the war, making it the second annual PPI. http://fnord.sandwich.net...eason-2:the_second_annual Edit: Or it would be had I not forgotten about the page size limits and ended up destroying everything I'd already put in. Right finish re-editing off line, and break it into two sections this time. -- Exclusive dedication to necessitious chores without interludes of hedonistic diversion renders John a hebetudinous fellow. - robkelk - 12-20-2008 Firvulag Wrote:Stared adding a slightly edited version of the Port Phobos thread, will finish tomorrow after sleep. Defined the events as happening in 2015, the year after the war, making it the second annual PPI.I was working on that one, too, although I had kept it set in 2014 so it wouldn't mess up my character's continuity... Want me to e-mail you a copy of what I'd done? -- Rob Kelk "Governments have no right to question the loyalty of those who oppose them. Adversaries remain citizens of the same state, common subjects of the same sovereign, servants of the same law." - Michael Ignatieff, addressing Stanford University in 2012 - firvulag - 12-20-2008 Sure. Exams and my last classes are over so I've finally got time to work on other stuff again, untill the thesis needs to be written, but that's 8-9 months away. My reasoning for setting the thread in 2015 is that a number of the pieces seem to assume that it isn't the first time the Port Phobos has happened, but I didn't want to push it too far into the future. -- "Having major planets disappear is always a bad sign." - Jim Blinn - Cobalt Greywalker - 12-20-2008 I too was working off the priciple the story was in 2015. I.E. It's the first Invitational, but the second time the event happened given the back story posted. (Greenpeace's implanted wireless neural interface was installed Xmas 2014.) - firvulag - 12-21-2008 Finished the re-edit, split it into two parts. If more scenes are added, they, and the last scene in part 2 will have to be put in a part 3. Part 2 is at the edge of the size limit. http://fnord.sandwich.net...eason-2:the_second_annual http://fnord.sandwich.net...:the_second_annual_part_2 -- What part of "Ph'nglui mglw'nafh Cthulhu R'lyeh wgah'nagl fhtagn" don't you understand? - Black Aeronaut - 01-07-2009 That's so awesome! And there's some stuff in there that I thought wasn't going to be included, like Ben and Gina's little 'discussion' with Lebia and the Engergizer Bunny incident... BTW: who get's to lay official claim to that one? The Professor? Or shall we say that it was one of Lilo Sibbit's constructs? - Cobalt Greywalker - 01-08-2009 Eh? I too thought that the 'discussion' wasn't going to be included, given that I appologised for letting Lebia get control of me for that and disavowed it. Given that the starting event wasn't in the storyline I don't think it should be included. The Energiser Bunny bit might want to go on as an epilogue, and the bit I posted that inspired it should take its place. - firvulag - 01-08-2009 Really? *checks thread* oh, it was disavowed wasn't it. Well, I'll have to edit that. -- Cooking is great--it's a socially acceptable excuse to play with knives and fire. - Black Aeronaut - 01-09-2009 Firvulag? Are you entering your sig quotes manully or do you have it hooked up to some sort of randomizer? - firvulag - 01-09-2009 Yes *ducks* I input them manually, but I've got a horrid little perl script that randomly picks them. -- "The nation of France is a theory, not a fact. It should therefore be approached with an open mind, and critically debated and considered." -- SirNitram, SDN - Black Aeronaut - 01-09-2009 Hrm... Wonder if you can rig it so with a globally recognized keystroke it'll automatically enter a random qoute as opposed to going through the trouble of having to select-cut-and-paste the damn thing. - firvulag - 01-10-2009 Ok, I think that fixes it. Left in Gina and Atropos' interaction, removed everyone talking about Lebia's response to it. I think. I couldn't find Lebia's response (IIRC Lebia threatening Gina with the Patrol) in either my copy or the one on the wiki. And moved the energizer bunny bits to the end, added the inspiration bit in their place, which I managed to miss the first time. Fnord, I don't suppose there's any way to force the wiki to wrap text lines at a certain length is there? Aside from manually entering \ every N chars that is. And BA, it might be possible, I don't know enough about XP to do it at the moment. -- "Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day; give him a freshly- charged Electric Eel and chances are he won't bother you for anything ever again" --Tanuki the Raccoon-dog, SDM - M Fnord - 01-13-2009 Quote:Fnord, I don't suppose there's any way to force the wiki to wrap text lines at a certain length is there?
