But yes, that's my general feel of the character, that's it's Buffy with the serial numbers filed off and dropped into a pulp-verse to become the Shadow. Like I said, I'm enjoying the story, so I'm not completely put out by it, but it's just a little off-putting. Hell, the author could have an OC and dropped her through a time-travel plot hole and just did a Shadow/Doc Savage fanfic.

Well that should be 'darker and edgier'... considering that whatever it is got Miko2 yelled at enough to dither and skip 2 years from the last long delayed chapter to the previous one(25), before just deciding to do it anyway... I'm taking wait and see as my policy.
Of course, it could just be the drama threshold of prereaders being low. Ranma does have a history of people turning its SuperRobo slapstick into RealRobo drama farming and things going to 'Wangst for the Wangst God' Mostly for shipping purposes. I've found that thinking of the one dimensional 'Akane in name Only's that pop up in those are better if you think of her as a relative of Cromartie High School's Shinichi Mechazawa ... with programming issues.
