They are also duplicates of that one twi'lek jedi from clone wars. They connect to form an s-shaped kind of dual-saber.
The interesting thing about miles is he probably has at least a rough idea on the mechanics of ftl/anti-grav.
That may not mean much in the limited tech base, but decade or two down the road after they tech up more, its going to mean a LOT.
