- robkelk - 10-27-2016 CBC: AI predicts Hillary winning with a 3% margin, as opposed to the 6% margin most of the pollsters are giving her. This was on the radio here this morning (because it's a local company). The interviewee mentioned that the AI is looking at what people are posting on social media, and that's believed to be a more accurate indicator than asking people who they support. That makes sense to me: who's going to give a politically-incorrect answer to a stranger when asked something, and who's going to share what they really believe on their own Twitter/Facebook/etc. accounts? -- Rob Kelk "Governments have no right to question the loyalty of those who oppose them. Adversaries remain citizens of the same state, common subjects of the same sovereign, servants of the same law." - Michael Ignatieff, addressing Stanford University in 2012 - Bob Schroeck - 10-27-2016 Interesting. My only concern with that is an article I've seen a couple of times over the past few days asserting that a third of all pro-Trump posts on social media are actually the work of bots. I'll have to look for it later tonight to see just how reliable it is. -- Bob --------- Then the horns kicked in... ...and my shoes began to squeak. - ordnance11 - 10-28-2016 Quote:robkelk wrote:Well, Obama was leading 1% in the polls on election day and ended up getting 332 electoral votes. The question at this point is whether or not HRC would win but by what margin? If you look at what Trump's campaign is doing, it's not actions of a campaign that think it has a chance of winning. Matter of fact, I suspect they're gunning for a low voter turnout. Aka voter suppression. Trump campaign's voter supression program Well, early voting starts tomorrow in my neighborhood. __________________ Into terror!, Into valour! Charge ahead! No! There won't be anyone voting, if he has his way. "...just cancel the election and give it to Trump," he said. Edgar Hoover and reopen the investigation into Hillary's emails, because 2 weeks before the election sounds great. Apparently there were some more emails on Huma Abedin's computer. So this is what we've come to: I have a choice between the candidate who keeps her classified emails one folder over from Rep. Weiner's dick pics, or the guy who thinks they should cancel the election and give the presidency to him. Actually, my ballot was already mailed, so not my choice any more. Huzzah! It was quite the struggle, 25 initiatives this time. Though in SF I guess they're up to 40 this year. And Reddit asked a question: Donald Trump's Hollywood star was one horcrux, what are Trump's other 6 horcruxes? -- ∇×V - ordnance11 - 10-29-2016 Going to early voting today. Who to choose? The candidate with Nixonian tendencies or the proto-facist?....eh no brainer. __________________ Into terror!, Into valour! Charge ahead! No! And whether Trump's campaign was involved in it, I don't see how it changes my main proposition - that Trump both wants to win and thinks he can pull it off. Because if it is, then I totally agree with you. And if it isn't, then I'm really not sure what the things you've been posting are supposed to be saying about the thing I was replying to in the first place. -Morgan. - ordnance11 - 11-05-2016 Quote:Morganite wrote:No I am saying that what I posted earlier is voter suppression for clarification. Your argument seemed to be attack ads aren't. So why did they say it is voter suppression? And it fits into a wider narrative, that the GOP at the county, state level in critical states are engaging in voter suppression tactics. Trump has already public said to his supporters to conduct "poll monitoring" in minority neighborhoods. Is there any valid reason to pull such an odious stunt? __________________ Into terror!, Into valour! Charge ahead! No!
