Movie-Map - robkelk - 10-31-2009

Today's UF Link of the Day is http://www.movie-map.com/]Movie-Map - The tourist map of movies. Give it the title of a movie you liked, and it'll give you other movie titles that you might like as well. They're presented in a "cloud" - the closer two movie titles are to each other, the more likely somebody who liked one will like the other.

The really cool thing about the site is that you get to see the titles moving around in the cloud as they're being sorted...

Edit: For fun, I gave it Star Trek: The Motion Picture - it generated an http://www.movie-map.com/star+trc-3a+th ... cture.html]intriuging results list...

"Governments have no right to question the loyalty of those who oppose
them. Adversaries remain citizens of the same state, common subjects of
the same sovereign, servants of the same law."

- Michael Ignatieff, addressing Stanford University in 2012

It's kinda weird though -- the three closest movies to http://www.movie-map.com/buckaroo+banzai.html]"Buckaroo Banzai" are "Lifeforce", "Species" and "I, Claudius"?

Bob, let's face it. Buckaroo Banzai is kind of a niche fandom that takes from all walks of life.

So, deciding to give it something a little more odd; I fed it the the Russ Meyer Classic Faster Pussycat Kill Kill!

What comes up?

The Story of Ricky (Rikki-Oh for the purists)

Good call.
