Meh. Managed to get stuck with Duty on Turkey Day - pure luck-of-the-draw. At least I get the rest of the weekend off.

- Kurisu - 11-26-2009

Ah yes, I haven't forgotten the trials and tribulations of active duty....

Happy Thanksgiving to all!

Just finished doing dishes for the (small) crowd. It's a been a low-key day thus far, but it's nice.

Happy Turkey Day!

- Logan Darklighter - 11-26-2009

May your stuffing be tasty

May your turkey plump,

May your potatoes and gravy

Have nary a lump.

May your yams be delicious

And your pies take the prize,

And may your Thanksgiving dinner

Stay off your thighs!

I found some more quotes related to Thanksgiving which might make you smile, even if you're not celebrating the day yourself. ^_^

Ambrose Bierce, The Devil's Dictionary

Turkey: A large bird whose flesh, when eaten on certain religious anniversaries has the peculiar property of attesting piety and gratitude.

Erma Bombeck, No One Diets on Thanksgiving

What we're really talking about is a wonderful day set aside on the fourth Thursday of November when no one diets. I mean, why else would they call it
Thanksgiving?

Johnny Carson

Thanksgiving is an emotional holiday. People travel thousands of miles to be with people they only see once a year. And then discover once a year is way too
often.

P. J. O'Rourke

Thanksgiving is so called because we are all so thankful that it only comes once a year.

Arnold Schwarzenegger

I love Thanksgiving turkey... it's the only time in Los Angeles that you see natural breasts.

- Valles - 11-27-2009

Hm, Happy Thanksgiving, everyone.

Living in a country where Thanksgiving was celebrated six weeks ago, I'm having Chinese takeout for dinner tonight... but I don't begrudge you your big
meals today. Happy turkey day, all y'all!

Smallest thanksgiving ever, for me - my parents are off in Boston to visit my brother and his family, since they can't get away from the lab for the
weekend. So it was just my aunt, her husband, my grandmother, and me, this year. Normally we have 16-20 people....

Happy Thanksgiving, all.

Normally, I have a dinner tonight with my parents, and another tomorrow with the paternal clan.

That second dinner got axed this year.

Lucky you. I'm prepping for my second Property Law midterm tomorrow afternoon.
Still, Happy Thanksgiving to those of you south of the border! Smile

The closest I get to Turkeyday is Christmas day and then we're left with overcooked roast turkey for the following week.
