Okay, this is kooky. - Bob Schroeck - 01-23-2010 Website of a guy who claims he visited a parallel earth where the Beatles never broke up and CDs never caught on. Includes downloadable zipfile and mp3s of a Beatles album that never was. I haven't listened to it yet, so I can't vouch for it. But the story's weird enough to intrigue and amuse folks here, I'm sure. -- Bob --------- Then the horns kicked in... ...and my shoes began to squeak. - Foxboy - 01-23-2010 Kooky or not, there's things to recommend it regardless of the validity of the claim. On the one hand, skilled pastiche work; on the other, quantum physicists of the "many worlds" hypothesis got a boost, no? ''We don't just borrow words; on occasion, English has pursued other languages down alleyways to beat them unconscious and rifle their pockets for new vocabulary.'' -- James Nicoll - Logan Darklighter - 01-23-2010 Huh. Nice story. Just started listening to the music. Ok - First track is sampled together from several sources, combined with a catchy thru line. It's kind of neat. Not enough to make me believe it's something the Beatles actually made (or would have) but fun nonetheless. |
