Live-Action Bubblegum Crisis Movie Update - Bob Schroeck - 11-18-2010

http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/20 ... gum-crisis]A director's been signed -- Anthony LaMolinara, who's directed the animation sequences for several films, including Spider-Man, Spider-Man 2, and Hollow Man.  It's his first time directing a full-length film, though.
Shooting is supposed to start in May; the original release date of 2012 has been pushed back.

I think that's a good sign.

Those are good movies with well-handled effects, and the BGC movie was always going to be CGI heavy. Even if I am a little disappointed that we won't have real hardsuit costumes to enjoy and ogle over.

They could always go the Iron Man method, practical effect suits with extensive CGI overlays to add detail.
