Now while I am not a hard core Star Trek fan.... - Thesilentjackofalltrade - 06-13-2011 I must wonder, can a Vulcan, who is experiencing insomnia, put himself to sleep with the Vulcan nerve pinch? (Or for that matter, can Vulcan's even get sleep deprived?) (Or for that matter, can Vulcan's even get sleep deprived?)Given how much Vulcans are into meditation and biofeedback, insomnia likely isn't too much of a problem. IIRC, the topic was addressed in the Enterprise series, and the answer was that they used 'neuropressure' techniques to deal with it. If the nerve pinch was actually an effective means of inducing sleep, I suspect that they'd have gone that route instead since it would have been much faster. ---------------------------------------------------- "Anyone can be a winner if their definition of victory is flexible enough." - The DM of the Rings XXXV - ECSNorway - 06-13-2011 Yeah, the nerve pinch seems to induce only brief unconsciousness - subjects wake up in just a few minutes or so. -- Sucrose Octanitrate. Thanks, I will look it up. Sweno: Yes, it comes in shirts, on the site I got the picture from. http://shirtoid.com/1731/how-to-perform ... rve-pinch/ ECSNorway: That is a very good point, they should wake up after a while, but I can imagine that a sleep deprived person would stay knocked out longer then someone who is perfectly normal, but not a whole six to eight hours of sleep needed. _____________ Veni, vidi, vici.
