Greetings from Wild and Wonderful West Virginia - Ebony - 10-25-2012

At least that's what it says on all the signs.
Anyway, I'm back. Morgantown has been deceptively warm and sunny; I expect winter to attack at any moment.

Summer's been putting up a good fight here in Ottawa, too. (Not a great one, but a good one - tomorrow's high is supposed to be 20C/68F.)

Enjoy it while you can... but never let your guard down.

Ah, it's the "Indian Summer," a clever technique created by the Native Americans to trick the approaching cavalry into thinking the weather was nice when, in reality, it was about to snow.
The source of my information is that fount of all knowledge, Lucy van Pelt.  And any reference that appears to contradict her was probably written by an Indian.
