Texas Explosion - Logan Darklighter - 04-18-2013 I think it's safe to say this week has been horrible. Hell - this entire MONTH has been horrible. While you're sending thoughts/prayers/well wishes to the survivors of the Second Boston Massacre (seriously - that's what it's becoming known as already) perhaps you can send some to the survivors of the West Texas Explosion. The blast was horrific. And many are still missing - may remain ever missing. The last time there was a blast of this magnitude it destroyed a port town on the Texas Coast. This could be of similar magnitude. Edit: Perhaps the ONLY saving grace in all this is that rain showers came through just hours after the explosion and helped cooled down the heart of the blaze and kept the fires from spreading into massive grass fires that could have devastated much more than just the initial explosion. - Rajvik - 04-18-2013 agreed, I used to live in DFW and remember when the acetalyne plant there went up like a bloody roman candle. was driving past it while it did as a matter of fact. Air ops were shut down for half the week while we made sure everything was clear at the base, almost as bad as when the shuttle broke up on reentry and they brought the pieces to our base to put the bugger back together. |
