How to race your music... - Dragonflight - 08-08-2013

Found this awesome game on Steam today, called "Audiosurf."
What it does is it takes any music track you specify, and creates a racetrack for it. There's multiple difficulty levels and race vehicle powers depending on the vehicle you choose and the abilities it has. But the race itself will vary in speed, intensity, how close to the racer you are and so on by the pace and rhythm of the music.
I had average results with Bon Jovi and a handful of movie soundtracks. But (so far) the best results I've had has been Nyan Nyan Service Medley from Macross Frontier. *That* was a wild race.

Try John Cage's 4'33.  It's supposed to be... interesting.
Also, I found Beat Hazard was a better use for my music.  I enjoyed shooting it down far, far longer than I did racing it.

Heh. Saw a video of it on youtube. It looks like R-Type crossed with Tron: Legacy, with a bit of Black Heaven thrown in for kicks. Smile

meh, I got it on a steam sale a while back and ended up only putting in 3 hours before setting it down.
If I want to play games with my music I much prefer "1.. 2.. 3.. Kick It", which is base jumping with environments build off music tracks.
