SFWA has a Convention Anti-Harassment Policy - robkelk - 08-24-2013 I don't know how many people here are members of the SFWA, although I do know the number is not zero. Those who are might want to consider signing the Convention Anti-Harassment Policy on the SFWA website. There's context and a link to it here: http://www.sfwa.org/2013/07/anti-harass ... a-writers/ (tl;dr: If your convention doesn't have an anti-harassment policy, or has one but doesn't publicize it, don't expect many SFWA members as con guests.) -- Rob Kelk "Governments have no right to question the loyalty of those who oppose them. Adversaries remain citizens of the same state, common subjects of the same sovereign, servants of the same law." - Michael Ignatieff, addressing Stanford University in 2012 - robkelk - 09-13-2013 This is intriguing: Andrew S. Williams has reviewed the anti-harassment policies of various conventions of the Pacific Northwest region of the USA. See who does and doesn't measure up. -- Rob Kelk "Governments have no right to question the loyalty of those who oppose them. I wonder if he's aware of http://drunkardswalkforums.yuku.com/topic/10317/So]Penny Arcade Expo's and (Penny Arcade's) rather unimpressive history in this area, or if his ranking is independent verification of some of their problems. -- Bob --------- Then the horns kicked in... ...and my shoes began to squeak. - robkelk - 09-14-2013 It looks like an independent ranking, I think. Certainly he's asked that the comments not turn into a PAX flamewar. -- Rob Kelk "Governments have no right to question the loyalty of those who oppose them.
