I am not sure whether to angry or relieved that the chinese (let's face it this is a PRC army operation) did this instead of a hacker from the U.S. Somebody 2 years ago tried to FOIA a list of every OSHA inspector. That got squashed. Last thing I want is someone publishing said list anonymously.

Oh just great! The hack is much more widespread and extensive. It looks like the hackers had gottten into everybody's files..including the SSN's! The whole OPM database is compromised. What;'s worse? The installation of the supposed upgrade they were doing? It was actually a demo that a vendor was pitching to them. Someone's head (or heads) are going to start rolling. Probably starting with the OPM head and may be the entire IT department.
After reading the news today, I placed my credit file on freeze with all 3 reporting agencies. A good thing is that a good chunk of my passwords are already under a password manager.
