Are these models from something, or are they original designs? - robkelk - 05-13-2016 http://freedom-of-art.ucoz.com/publ/free_poser_ds/11 I don't recognize them as being from or inspired by any particular work, but I'm the first to admit I haven't seen and read everything out there. -- Rob Kelk "Governments have no right to question the loyalty of those who oppose them. Adversaries remain citizens of the same state, common subjects of the same sovereign, servants of the same law." - Michael Ignatieff, addressing Stanford University in 2012 - Spoilsport - 05-13-2016 A few of the models look familiar/similar, almost like one of the modelers started making the Sulacco from Aliens (Assault Destroyer), then personalized the design. A few remind me of EVE Online ships (Bomber, Torpedo Frigate, Ship Yard, Resource Controller). I've never played the game, but I've encountered the ships in online searches for paper models. - hazard - 05-13-2016 They're not from EVE, they're ships from Homeworld 2. - robkelk - 05-13-2016 Thanks. Now to find out whether they're modeled after the designs from Homeworld 2 or extracted from the game. (The former I can list on the freebie wiki in good conscience; the latter, I can't.) That's a question for a different forum... unless somebody here happens to have the necessary skills and resources. -- Rob Kelk "Governments have no right to question the loyalty of those who oppose them. A remaster of Homeworld 1 and 2 with among other things better graphics was published in 2015. |
