Quick Manga question - ECSNorway - 11-22-2016 Back in the dark mists of time, when Dark Horse publishing started releasing their translation of the Ah! Megami-Sama! manga, they excised a large number of chapters that they thought would not be interesting to American readers. They ended up releasing them in their "Super Manga Blast" house magazine. Later on they released new versions of the early volumes with these chapters restored. I've been considering replacing my copies of the early volumes, but I need to know at which volume they stopped excising material. Anyone know? Thanks! -- Sucrose Octanitrate. Proof positive that with sufficient motivation, you can make anything explode. - robkelk - 11-23-2016 They dropped a lot of chapters in order to get Urd and Skuld into the story more quickly. I don't recall whether they dropped any after Skuld's first appearance. -- Rob Kelk "Governments have no right to question the loyalty of those who oppose them. That's somewhat bothersome. - robkelk - 11-23-2016 That was back when the were publishing one chapter per month as a North-American-style comic book and collecting them in named paperbacks. The numbered paperback collections are complete. -- Rob Kelk "Governments have no right to question the loyalty of those who oppose them. Yet another reason why I prefer scanslators and fansubbers. > |
