Gift of the Gab - DHBirr - 12-11-2017 Potentially very dangerous, this makes the recipient's speech glib, witty, and PERSUASIVE — persuasive to Nuremberg rally levels. Perhaps fortunately, it's short ... only a little over two minutes in the linked film clip. But you know, a lot of damage can be done in two minutes ... and if the suggestions the speaker has made linger in listeners' minds.... RE: Gift of the Gab - hazard - 12-19-2017 I'd interpret it differently; 'A Spoonful of Sugar' makes it easier to convince someone of something unpleasant, be it using a nasty medicine, doing a dangerous job or something that is otherwise likely self destructive, but it has to come with something that makes it more palatable. It seems to be more effective the more clear it is that however unpleasant it is a necessary action to take. |
