Well, that was my first thought on reading this. The only thing that surprises me about this is how long it's taken for someone to sign the licensing deal. It's about the only thing that hasn't worn the NERV logo at this stage.

Micahel Bay is not the worst of the Transformers takes. Kiss Players holds that dishonor. The tentacle tounged Megatron clones are on example.
I hope that this Eva/Tranfromers take doesn't try to oudo Kiss Players

Just watched Pacific Rim today. It probably wasn't intended as a proof of concept (if I'm using the phrase correctly) for an EVA film but its success certainly increased the odds of an EVA film being made.
As for a Michael Bay EVA film, well based on the transformers attempts, you will at least recognise the names of many of the characters. Anything else is in the lap of the script gods.
