Perhaps as a means of driving a point home.
Have Doug Gate onto the set of "Drunkards Walk" in the world of Hollywood Magic, the Director yells "CUT!" and proceeds to chew Doug out for not sticking to the script.
I think that this particular world is open because the concept behind it has, so far, been incapable of being Copywritten.

Since people are already writing "Bonus Theatre" segments which use the conceit that DW is a studio production of some sort already, this has the potential for some really weird loopbacks, even worse than Gryphon's "Shamrock House"...
