(RFC) My ship needs quirks - Rajvik - 02-25-2013 And comments. I've spent the last few weeks working on this as well as a bit of a story telling how my character aquires it, and note when he gets it, its completely DEMILLED. No weaponry onboard what-so-ever. so here she is, the FCS Werewolf. Quote:Ship build: cargo ship/Escort carrier Now she needs quirks, and i have to write up her AI, and i'm working on what dopple that will be, suggestions? - robkelk - 02-25-2013 With a crew that size, the ship is probably going to need to be run "by the book." However, I'm not going to suggest which book... (although "Mother Goose's Fairy Tales" would probably be a bad choice). -- Rob Kelk "Governments have no right to question the loyalty of those who oppose them. Adversaries remain citizens of the same state, common subjects of the same sovereign, servants of the same law." - Michael Ignatieff, addressing Stanford University in 2012 - DeputyJones - 02-25-2013 *rimshot* Maybe it won't move without pina colada mix aboard? - LynnInDenver - 02-25-2013 Moisturize Me!: The well deck and "wet" water barrier compartments always have high humidity, no matter how dry the rest of the ship is. Attempts to mitigate this with dehumidifiers fail quickly as the dehumidifiers break down inside of an hour. -- "You know how parents tell you everything's going to fine, but you know they're lying to make you feel better? Everything's going to be fine." - The Doctor - Star Ranger4 - 02-25-2013 DeputyJones Wrote:*rimshot*If we're gonna go THAT route, the captain also needs to be sure his hair is perfect at all times, though probobly just one last check before walking out thje cabin door would work. And or there must also be a tailor as a member of the crew at all times. Hear that thunder rolling till it seems to split the sky? That's every ship in Grayson's Navy taking up the cry- NO QUARTER!!! -- "No Quarter", by Echo's Children - HRogge - 02-25-2013 How does Quote:No weaponry onboard what-so-ever. mix with Quote:6-57mm Rotary Coil guns ? - Rajvik - 02-25-2013 I said the navy demilled her not that i didnt add things. In fact i specifically said i added weapons - Rajvik - 02-26-2013 Edit doesnt seem to work from my phone. Reread post and i didnt put it there after all. Meant to must have mentioned it on IRC instead - Proginoskes - 02-26-2013 Am I reading the write up correctly? She uses water jet propulsion, like a giant JetSki? How about she leaves a trail of water everywhere, even when she doesn't have anyplace to draw it from. (In space, it stays in droplets for several hours instead of flash-evaporating like it should. Nobody knows why.) - Rajvik - 03-04-2013 hows this for quirks: Quirks: 1. Moisturize Me!: The well deck and "wet" water barrier compartments always have high humidity, no matter how dry the rest of the ship is. Attempts to mitigate this with dehumidifiers fail quickly as the dehumidifiers break down inside of an hour. Hard vacuum doesn’t work either. 2. Path a blind man could follow: The ship leaves a trail of water behind it even if it has no water to draw on for its drives. (In space the water is in droplet form). 3. by the book: Crew is loosely held the core concepts of the Geneva Convention and the UCMJ. 4. Pet friendly: Several cabins were combined into one for a “pet park”. The ship requires one pet of some kind onboard at all times or it refuses to budge. 5. Powered by Ballad: The ships engines require power ballads to run, recordings will work, Kareoke is better, and live performances get the best results. - Rajvik - 03-30-2014 Alright, sorry about bumping this to the top but as I'm going to be revamping this to a Bay class Panamax cargo ship hull I thought it might be a good idea to bring it back to the top of the thread list for reconsideration. - Rajvik - 03-31-2014 Name: FCS Werewolf, (Originally the Shenzhen Bay) Vessel type: Converted Container Ship/ Carrier Gross tonnage: 50,350 tons Length: 292 m Beam: 32 m Draught: 11.6 m Speed: 25+ knots in the water (.035C in space) Callsign: (Classified)| Port of Registry: Arisa Station| Flag: Fenspace convention | Dimensions: LOA: 292.20 m | BM: 32.30 m | Draught: 11.20 m | GRT: 50.350 | Engine: 2-Bell Hydrogen Turbo-shaft powering four 12 inch water-jet pumps to twin outlets. Built: 1994 by Ishikajima-Harima Heavy Industries Co. Ltd., Japan Retrofitted: 2017 Engels ship yard Pascagoula MS. Class: Fenspace Register of Shipping | Owner: Great Justice | Operator: (Classified) Crew Minimum: 20 (Humans/android frames) Capacity: 600 (Humans/android frames) Cranes: 2-60-ton gimbal cranes (rear deck) 1-60ton gantry crane (forward deck) Electronic Systems: AN/SPS-49 Air Search Radar (waved) AN/SPS-67 Surface Search Radar (waved) AN/SPS-64 Navigation Radar (waved) Direct Armament: 6-57mm Rotary Coil guns (in popup turrets) Purchased from her previous owners before being sent to the scrap yard the MV Providence Bay, a Bay class cargo ship, was sailed through the Panama Canal to Engels shipyards in Pascagoula MS. for the retro-fitting of twin water jet drive propulsion systems, the four pumps to power them and the two new hard-tech hydrogen turbine engines that was to be her new propulsion system. After that and a shakedown cruise to work the bugs out of the jet drive she returned to Engels for the second phase of her rebuild. Her internal cargo volume was filled with bulkheaded cargo containers and then her loading hatches sealed before her topside deck was loaded with two more layers of cargo containers. After this was completed, the internal cargo containers were cut and welded into deck space, living quarters, passageways and hanger space while the inboard above deck containers were turned into a flight deck and additional hanger space. The external rows of cargo containers mount the ships defensive weaponry, radar, and two small craft. The rear deck is open with a retractable double airlock for visiting shuttles and vehicles that won’t fit in the flight deck. By mid-2019 the ship was prepared for waving which was done via the “Blue Star” wave strain, a “Wing Commander” based strain that has a 65% chance of creating and artificial intelligence(80% AI will be female) in advanced electronics. Due to the source of her flight systems an AI was created which took the name TaraWa manifesting a mixed nationality Asian female avatar who was immediately provided a body and the choice of joining Great Justice or just making her way in the Collective. She chose to join and is rumored to be the current captain of the FCS Werewolf. Cargo availability is deck-top replacing some of the border containers, rear deck (6 high 10 wide 4 deep) as well as two to four additional forward topside layers. The Werewolf’s most common use is as a colony transport moving people and their goods to off planet colonies. Transport conditions are Spartan but secure as each “Reefer” unit is a self-contained and waved emergency shelter pod with a recovery beacon and each cargo unit is armored and sealed with a four star space rating against micro-meteorites and other high speed projectiles. Most of its small craft are classified but the two most notable are the “Black Lagoon” and “Eagle Five” the first is a 75ft World War two era PT Boat that has been stripped of its original armaments and engine. Fitted with a waved 471 dodge hemi engine powering two-four inch water jet drives the Patrol Boat is usually used as a lander and personnel shuttle. Eagle five is a former LCM6 landing craft with a waved Bell Hydrogen Turbo-shaft and 6in water jet drive and is used to transport cargo containers from the ship to their ports of call. Quirks: 1. Path a blind man could follow: The ship leaves a trail of water behind it even if it has no water to draw on for its drives. (In space the water is in droplet form). 2. Ready five: The flight deck must be maintained in a ready condition in case “Air Ops” are necessary. 3. Pet friendly: Several cabins were combined into one for a “pet park”. The ship requires one pet of some kind onboard at all times or it refuses to budge. 4. Powered by Ballad: The ships engines require power ballads to run, recordings will work, Kareoke is better, and live performances get the best results. |
