Well, we already have http://www.fenspace.net/index.php5?title=Nostromo. We could retcon it to being the proper size and acknowledging it as a native system body instead of being a rogue planet. If it's real, it's almost certainly the lost third ice giant that got given the boot from the inner solar system during the Late Heavy Bombardment/Jupiter's Big Move.

Well--hang on, I was thinking it was found in 2014, but it was found in-verse this year.
Ah, hell. It works, still. We've got what, 5 months to the date when it was found in-verse? Easy to say that it's in one of the as-of-yet unsearched bands of its orbit. Looking at the page for the discovery ship, it looks like Mel isn't the type to look at in-system stuff, since she specializes in cargo hauling, so it's plausible she didn't even catch the hullabaloo about the potential planet. Which saves most of the surprise.

The thing is, given its off-ecliptic orbit, is it even ever in the right general vicinity to be encountered on the way to Rigil Kentaurus? Someone dig up an ephemera and email the guys at Caltech so we get this right.

I don't... think it is? They've made a whole bunch of data public to help crowdsource the hunt, and what little I can parse suggests that #9 crosses the Milky Way (and if it's out there is likely to be hidden in that mess) but doesn't come close enough to Alpha Centauri to intersect the traffic lanes. I think. Maybe. I'm not an astronomer.

I would imagine most people fen and dane alike would have some small, minor, possibly inconsequential issues with moving a dwarf planet inwards to the part of the solar system where all the people are. Something-something-let's not play planetary billiards by chance or choice.
