Mirage Sabre: Help? Please? - Niteflier - 10-08-2008 MicroHue suggested me picking up Hero Planner a few days ago. So I did. It looks a lot like the one I had three years ago. But, then, as is now, I've not got much of a clue as to how to 'build' a hero properly. If anyone would take it upon themselves to aid me in this, I would be most appreciative. Below is Mirage's current build and enh for level 22. Also, a question or two. Namely, what's your budgetary range (inf, not real world ; ), and what's your desired role. At level 21, there's not much 'build' to be had, in all honesty - slot some happiness, and go. If you feel a lack, slot something different. Howsoever, you asked for help, I can provide! Spectral Wounds - grab yourself some Entropic Chaos. Everything except the 'Chance for Self Heal' (I will not reccomend procs. Ever.), nets you 10% regen (from a level 20 set!), and 2.25% max End - just like HP, raising your Max End causes you to regain it faster, since Recovery is a percentage of the total. Transfusion - This.. this is a tough call. If you use this a lot (I do on my troller), you'll want more recharge than my reccomendation provides. However, if you just want it to hit hard, roll a Miracle: Healing, and a Miracle: Heal/Recharge. 2.5% recovery ain't a bad bonus for a pair of slots, at any level. Blind - there are a LOT of options available for enhancing this power. I strongly reccomend you plan on 5 or 6 slotting the purple set 'fortunata hypnosis' (which, blueside, you can pick up for about the same cost I'd pay for _one_ Melee Damage purple, you lucky dog!) For now, I have to lean towards duplicating the slotting of Spec Wounds - Entropic Chaos everywhere! another 10% regen, another 2.25% max end.. Siphon Power - Try replacing the Range IO with an End Red IO. Saves ya about 2 end per cast. Combat Jumping - one of the 'cheapest' powers in the game. As soon as I13 lets you, drop an LOTG 7.5% in there. For now, see if you can pick up a Gift of the Ancients pair, or a Kismet pair. Kismet should be easier, and while the actual enhancements are pretty lackluster (Serendipity would be better), 1.5% recovery (or 4% regen with Serendipity) isn't a bad thing. Soup Invis - Kismet again. Slot the three that do End, and you'll be a bit better off for End savings, and have slightly more defense, as well as picking up a sweet set bonus (1.5% recovery and some confuse resist) Hurdle - get a slot in this, and stuff it with Jump IOs, stat! both me an Emet can make the 'jump' IOs ( or any generic IOs ) for cost of ingredients + cost of table (we've memorized all generic IO recipies). For a Superjumper, I reccomend two slots in Hurdle - at level 50, with 50 IOs in Hurdle, you'll be at the movement-over-ground speed cap just by turning superjump _on_. Siphon Speed - Tempered Readiness. 1.5% recovery, get the two with 'endurance' in their effects list, and you'll save a bit of End. IMO, this is a useless/easily abandoned power once you have your travel power. Health - EMPTY? I. Am. Having. An. Episode. slot this, ASAFP, Please! three Miracles that 'heal' will get you around 24% additional regen - this is not something to miss out on. If you can, score the Miracle: Recovery unique, and add a fourth slot for it!. 2.5% recovery and 1.88% MaxHP aren't a bad couple of set bonusses, either - with 4x Miracle, you get a 5% global enhancement to Heal. Group Invis - I actually can't hand you a better slotting for this until you have the levels to stuff an LOTG 7.5% in it. Phantom Army - Again, the Purple set for this power is relatively cheap, get it as soon as you can, plan on 4-slotting it, since the Purple Pet Set kinda sucks. For now, drop in two Brilliant Leadership (I grabbed Dam/End and Acc/End, to get the End use of this beast under control), and fill it out with a recharge reduction. Speed Boost - Plz? I kid. there's two main considerations to slotting speed boost - while a little bit of recharge doesn't hurt, it really isn't _needed_. So, consideration one... Do you want to be a dick? Slot run IOs in it! people will turn into rocket-powered Wall Sleds, and stop coming back for more! Alternatively, plan on 4-6 slots. Grab Performance Shifter (level 21 is the minimum for this set), and hop it up to 4 pieces ASAP, for 2.5% recovery and some movement bonusses (5% to everything, whee), as well as another 1.88% MaxHP. The other alternative is Efficiacy Adapter, which has the 5% global recharge bonus as it's six piece 'brass ring'. Cheers! "No can brain today. Want cheezeburger." So I'll prolly get around to buying up all this stuff..... in the late 30s or 40s.... ![]() Quote:Hurdle - get a slot in this, and stuff it with Jump IOs, stat! both me an Emet can make the 'jump' IOs ( or any generic IOs ) for cost of ingredients + cost of table (we've memorized all generic IO recipies). Quote:Speed Boost - Plz?Well, there's something for me to look into when dual powersets come out then ![]() Thanks for the op, Wire. I'll be looking into all of your suggestions... - Shader - 10-13-2008 Ok... finally got around to having a look at this build... and reading what as gone before me. Seriously, I need to change my handle. Anyhooo... I've got a Grav/Kin troller and 2 Ill/Rad controllers all of which have been played up to the mid 20s. The Grav/Kin is a healer and one Ill/Rad is a defentroller (Word of wisdom: never rp on a non-rp server... particularly that of a mute, you come off as being rude) the other Ill/Rad is a blastroller (he's only in the teens though). So onto your build: No or limited income? That's easy fixed. Find some! No seriously. Its a piece of cake. SOs that you can afford until lvl 27ish then beg or borrow or ask a lvl 50 to make some generic lvl 30 IOs for you or make yourself to replace the SOs and slot them instead. Build lvl 30 IOs as you need them and sell off your other stuff... and don't worry about sets until lvl 40s or high, or when you have lots of money to back you. And before you know it you will have lots of money. Heck, I'll even build the IOs you need for the first build below if you want or if no one else steps in - Jelidan could do with the memorization badges. A lvl 30 IO = even lvl SO ... never needs changing, so it can be swapped out for the set or a 50 when you get there. This first build it a 'me poor, me no respec build'.... Notable points:

Code: | Copy & Paste this data into Mids' Hero Designer to view the build | No travel power - have I lost my marbles? No if you can last to lvl 28, you get Inertial Reduction aka Super Jump. You may be wondering why only go to level 40? I can almost hear you ask it. At level 41 theres the Epic Power Pools and they are getting worked on in i13. And Epics are personal choice and depend greatly on the toon. But let's assume a few things for arguments sake: Controller Epics don't change drastically, and that you take the Psi Epic, mainly for the Psi protection it offers. (To save space I'll just post the data chunk) Lvl 50 - Sets Code: | Copy & Paste this data into Mids' Hero Designer to view the build | Still to haven't done a respec, so the orginal slotting is there, any non-set IOs changed to lvl 50 IOs Some of the levels of the sets are out... but that's also personal preference. I prefer to keep my bonuses when I exp down. Lvl 50 - Purples This is the money build. Code: | Copy & Paste this data into Mids' Hero Designer to view the build | Bonus is its a shade faster and got a whiff more damage and accuracy. Stack 3 Siphon Speeds and Phantom Army is just under 20 seconds from being permament. (Re perma PA - I'm not really trying... well that is to say, not really going the whole min/max extreme recharge stik. That would probably take a respec and a minor reshuffle of power and enhancements.) Also by the time you get around to needing/using purples you should have a good grip on the dynamics of the toon, and you probably will be coming back here for further help... that and as I said they are swinging the buff/nerf bat around atm. Not only that, but you'll have more money. Hope this helps and points you in the right direction. (I vaguely recall reading a ill/Kin troller guide on the official forums at one point, but it may have been eaten, and I may be mis-remembering.) Others might be able to build on this, or have better suggestions. Shader |
