I would not consider Fr. Jeremy Davies senile; he is in
command of his faculties; in so much that what he is saying is in line with church doctrine concerning demon possession.
I doubt his recent book is an Anthony Flew job, ghosted to attach a particular revised world view to the Fathers.
Exorcisms are still allowed under Catholic Church
doctrines. There are even courses on it offered to priests.
