Mag's current build - Mids Datablock - Wiregeek - 09-22-2008 please note - the levels on the IOs aren't right, and I don't have time to fiddle. Build advice very much desired. My next step is to Mids a 'non purple' build and work towards it. Want cheezeburger." From NGE: Nobody Dies, by Gregg Landsman http://www.fanfiction.net/s/5579457/1/NGE_Nobody_Dies - OpMegs - 09-22-2008 ...I've got one question, looking at this. I understand not giving it any slots....but am I the only one that puts SOs in Brawl, Rest, and Sprint just to HAVE something there? --- "Oh, silver blade, forged in the depths of the beyond. Heed my summons and purge those who stand in my way. Lay waste." - Bob Schroeck - 09-22-2008 No, you're not. -- Bob --------- Then the horns kicked in... ...and my shoes began to squeak. - Acyl - 09-22-2008 Personally, I tend to put level 25-30 common IOs into Brawl, Rest, and Sprint...and then just leave it at that. What interests me about the build, though, is the complete lack of accuracy slotting. I realise you have Focused Accuracy as your final power pic, but it seems rather risky to me to rely on that - especially if you happen to exemp down. Also, I can't imagine relying on it as your only source of +tohit or acc. I mean, okay, taunt doesn't need any accuracy slotting in PvE, sure, and offhand I don't think Chilling Embrace needs it much either...but even so... I dunno. Granted, Mag doesn't exactly do much damage to speak of, but he does have a lot of utility (and mostly aggro-holding) powers...that DO require a tohit/accuracy check, and those powers don't have acc slotting either. Icicles, Frost, hell, even Frozen Fists for the gauntlet. And this works with only Focused Accuracy backin' 'em up? It's not a whiff-fest? No, that's a genuine question. Does it work? Clearly it does, I mean, Mag's a good tank, but...how well does it work, and how does it feel on your end? Particularly, again, on the off chance that you do exemplar? This is clearly a deliberate design choice on your part, to forgo the accuracy slotting... how well does that work? I'm really curious because it's a choice I'd never even consider, myself. -- Acyl - Ankhani - 09-22-2008 I am le tired. I'll see if there's anything I can figure out for you after I have a nap and finish up classes. --- The Master said: "It is all in vain! I have never yet seen a man who can perceive his own faults and bring the charge home against himself." >Analects: Book V, Chaper XXVI - Wiregeek - 09-22-2008 the only time I need FA is when I'm trying to whack some sneaky underhanded bastard, like, say, Cyberman 8... I did some work on a Non Purple 'better build' via Mids last night, that would have netted me approx 18% acc bonus, but given that it was well past midnight, I wouldn't be surprised to load up that build and just find 'LOL' spelled out in level one training enhancements 8 / Edit to clarify: When FA is off, I do whiff more than I could with +acc IOs. However, FA is on 99% of the time, and even without it, it's not bad. Original text follows But, to better answer your initial question.. I whiff more than I could, yes. However, I don't do it often enough to bother me, or to appear to impair me. FA is on 99% of the time. "No can brain today. Want cheezeburger."
