Rebellious Trees - HoagieOfDoom - 01-15-2006 "The Trees" from the Hemispheres album by Rush There is unrest in the forest, There is trouble with the trees, For the maples want more sunlight And the oaks ignore their pleas. The trouble with the maples, (And they're quite convinced they're right) They say the oaks are just too lofty And they grab up all the light. But the oaks can't help their feelings If they like the way they're made. And they wonder why the maples Can't be happy in their shade. There is trouble in the forest, And the creatures all have fled, As the maples scream "Oppression!" And the oaks just shake their heads So the maples formed a union And demanded equal rights. "The oaks are just too greedy; We will make them give us light." Now there's no more oak oppression, For they passed a noble law, And the trees are all kept equal By hatchet, axe, and saw. Effect: Causes any Oaks or Maples within AoE to suddenly start arguing and fighting. The only way to keep them in line is to have either a hatchet, an axe, or a saw handy. Not entirely sure how this would be useful, but it would certainly be amusing. Well, unless the trees started to get violent...********* Touched By His Noodly Appendage www.venganza.org Re: Rebellious Trees - Bob Schroeck - 01-15-2006 Ooooooookay.... but, yeah, I could see there might be times when this would be a useful thing... -- Bob --------- For Jor-El so loved the Earth, he sent his only begotten son... Re: Rebellious Trees - Black Aeronaut - 01-15-2006 Definitely sounds like something Doug might have used as a practical joke. ^_^-NeoRaven "I became insane with long intervals of horrible sanity." -Edgar Allen Poe Sponsored by Black Aeronaut Technologies - Aerospace solutions for the discerning spacer.-NeoRaven "I became insane with long intervals of horrible sanity." -Edgar Allen Poe Sponsored by Black Aeronaut Technologies - Aerospace solutions for the discerning spacer. Re: Rebellious Trees - HoagieOfDoom - 01-16-2006 Going back to college, I was suddenly struck by the mental image of Doug playing this during the SM step while Jupiter is around maple syrup. Or a Maple. It's proving to be weirdly funny.********* Touched By His Noodly Appendage www.venganza.org Re: Rebellious Trees - Bob Schroeck - 01-16-2006 -- Bob --------- For Jor-El so loved the Earth, he sent his only begotten son...
