I'm thinking maybe this could be an "escape hatch" song for Doug, or maybe some sort of emotion control song that forces people to fall out of love for the duration. The first effect duplicates "Thunder Road", but one can never have too many escape hatches... The second could be of use against emotion controllers of a particularly nasty (and perverted) sort.

Now that I know the Soft Cell version is a cover, I realize we can have both effects.

Yup, that'll do it.
And that makes the third version of this song I have in our MP3 collection. I've also got a short cover by Pussycat Dolls. So we can possibly wring out a third effect from those lyrics.
