Self-Simulacra - Scrambler - 12-14-2002 After reading a question about a self-simulacra song in the chapter 12 commentary thread, I had this song jump to my mind as the one to do it. Weird Al's "I Think I'm A Clone Now" Re: Self-Simulacra - Bob Schroeck - 12-16-2002 As I said not too long ago over in the DW2 area, that's such a good suggestion that I'm going to have to add it to his repertoire. Thanks! -- Bob --------- Then the horns kicked in... ...and my shoes began to squeak. Re: Self-Simulacra - Xenoproctologist - 12-20-2002 They Might Be Giants: "My Evil Twin" I shudder to think of a Doug clone with no inhibitions... Re: Self-Simulacra - Logan Darklighter - 12-21-2002 Alright! Stop that ROIT now! I object in the strongest terms possible! The Republican party is NOT a haven for fundamentalism! We have the problem relatively under control! -Logan Re: Self-Simulacra - Ebony - 12-24-2002 There is no fundamentalism in the Republican Party, and when we say there is no fundamentalism in the Republican Party, we mean that there is a little bit. Re: My Response, Version Two - Logan Darklighter - 12-24-2002 There's a little bit of Looney in Hexe, but it's TRYING TO GET OUT!!! LISTEN UP HEXY BABY!!! -Logan ------------------------------- "However, he has chosen a rather obvious bit of cover..." **BOOM!** ------------------------------- Re: My Response, Version Two - Bob Schroeck - 12-26-2002 And now for my next trick, I will try to extract a useful power from "Debbie Gibson Is Pregnant (With My Two-Headed Love Child)". (Am I alone in remembering a video for this which starred Winona Ryder in a blonde wig as Debbie Gibson, cavorting about with Mojo?) (Gratuitous stream-of-consciousness EPU references follow I wonder if the Presleytarians on Funkotron have demonized Michael J. Fox... And how would it sound if we could get Mojo Nixon to talk like Mojo Jojo? -- Bob --------- Then the horns kicked in... ...and my shoes began to squeak. My second exposure to Mojo Nixon, followed by "Elvis is Everywhere" being on the Funny Five on the Dr. Demento Show (which I truly miss). Re: Ah, the wonders of Google - Bob Schroeck - 12-27-2002 Yup. I have "Debbie Gibson" on tape, and it savages MTV culture, pretty much. Mojo's opinion of MTV is that it was cool when it started, but when it got profitable and corporate, it ended up paying only bare lip service to the idea of being innovative and "alternative". Google (as I did) on "Mojo Nixon" and "Winona Ryder" and you'll find a few interviews with him where he minces no words. -- Bob --------- Then the horns kicked in... ...and my shoes began to squeak. |
