Warriors of the World United (Manowar) - drakensis - 08-31-2003 It occurred to me that if Doug hadn't used 'With A Little Help From My Friends to summon the (simulated) Warriors to him, then this one might have had a similar effect. For a nasty twist, the last verse might result in him getting home dimension-wise - but only if he dies in battle while singing it. Here our soldiers stand from all around the world Waiting in a line to hear the battle cry All are gathered here victory is near The sound will fill the hall bringing power to us all We alone are fighting for metal that is true We own the right to live the fight we're here for all of you Now swear the blood upon your steel will never dry Stand and fight together beneath the metal sky Brothers Everywhere Raise you hands into the air We're warriors Warriors of The World Like thunder from the sky Sworn to fight and die We're warriors Warriors of The World Many stand against us but they will never win We said we would return and here we are again To bring them all destruction suffering and pain We are the hammer of the Gods we are thunder wind and rain There they wait in fear with swords in feeble hands With dreams to be a King first one should be a man I call them out and charge them all with a life that is a lie And in their final hour they shall confess before they die Brothers Everywhere Raise you hands into the air We're warriors Warriors of The World Like thunder from the sky Sworn to fight and die We're warriors Warriors of The World If I should fall in battle my brothers who fight by my side Gather my horse and weapons tell my family how I died Until then I will be strong I will fight for all that is real All who stand in my way will die by steel Brothers Everywhere Raise you hands into the air We're warriors Warriors of The World "How can I be this kick ass strong?! Powerful! Handsome! Charismatic! Gorgeous! Oh, Gods... Why do you burden me with such a heavy karma!" - Dark Schneider, Bastard!!! #20 D for Drakensis You're only young once, but immaturity is forever. Re: Warriors of the World United (Manowar) - Bob Schroeck - 09-02-2003 Yeah, that would do it, all right... -- Bob --------- Then the horns kicked in... ...and my shoes began to squeak. Raising an army - ordnance11 - 03-26-2004 That scene of Doug summoning his team mates got me thinking..what if he needed to raise a combat force? "Onward Christian Soldiers"..would he get an army of Crusaders? "Battle Hymm of the Republic" ...the Army of the Potomac? "Gary Owen"..I'm not sure whether everyone around would get the effects of alcohol poisoning or would he get the 7th Cavalry Regiment..if so in what incarnation? He could get anything from a horse regiment to an airmobile battalion or an tank battalion..or heaven help him..maybe even a BOLO! It would be wild if he played the opening song of GI Joe...the appearance of the Special Mission Force would freak out anybody. __________________ Into terror!, Into valour! Charge ahead! No! Re: Raising an army - ordnance11 - 03-27-2004 //Ed Becerra's been urging this one for a while... // Which version? The movie version has more "oomph" in my opinion. I did notice Ed had a scene where he had a GI Joe simulation in one of his fics. __________________ Into terror!, Into valour! Charge ahead! No! Never turn Yes, it's into the fire we fly And the devil will burn! - Scarlett Pimpernell In need of an onion - cpt kangarooski - 03-28-2004 Just to be clear, I wasn't talking about a minion, I was talking about a minyan. Basically, a minyan is a quorum of ten adult Jewish men (or, if you're in a more liberal sect, women too) which is necessary for formal services. As the old saying goes, ten cobblers can make up a minyan, but nine rabbis can't. In a more general sense, it takes ten people to comprise a community, or to divide private and public life. I was being facetious though. Since Doug can only create simulacra, it wouldn't count anyway. Anyway Offsides, so what's your idea? You can't just leave us hanging.
