a dressing song - Caligostro - 01-19-2004 Top Hat, White Tie and Tails Fred Astaire Words and music by Irving Berlin. Introduced by Fred Astaire in the motion picture "Top Hat." (verse) I just got an invitation through the mails: "Your presence requested this evening, It's formal, a top hat, a white tie and tails." Nothing now could take the wind out of my sails. Because I'm invited to step out this evening With top hat and white tie and tails. (chorus) I'm puttin' on my top hat, Tyin' up my white tie, Brushin' off my tails. I'm dudin' up my shirt front, Puttin' in the shirt studs, Polishin' my nails, I'm steppin' out, my dear, To breathe an atmosphere That simply reeks with class; And I trust that you'll excuse my dust When I step on the gas, For I'll be there, Puttin' down my top hat, Mussin' up my white tie, Dancin' in my tails. Might put him into for the duration of one night by converting his present clothing. The clothes he wears may or may not retain their original properties (armor/tech?), but since the night does not exactly end at midnight they may not change back afterwards. Since a tailcoat is worn after 6:00 PM or sun down (which ever is earlier) the song shouldn't do anything before that time. Caligostro Re: a dressing song - Bob Schroeck - 01-19-2004 Hm. A companion song to ZZ Top's "Sharp Dressed Man". The perfect place to use both of these, of course, is in the potential Sailor Moon Step -- where they turn him into "Tuxedo Loon". -- Bob --------- There is no spork. |
