Yet another song "Turning Japanese" - hmelton - 11-15-2003 I heard part of this song the other day for the first time in several years and thought I'd look the words up. After reading them I thought thy might form a song that could change Boomers into Japanese citizens. Depending on what Loon's power latchs onto it could have serveral effects. The Song might have the possiblity of Making the Loon look asian Making the Loon think he looks asian. Making all nearby boomers human enough to be Japanese citizens. create a million pictures around the Loon Giving him a x-ray picture of a person or persons. Banish all women from near him or maybe all drugs. It might even turn the Loon into a creepy Lone Ranger TURNING JAPANESE - The Vapors --------------------------------------- I've got your picture of me and you You wrote "I love you" I love you too I sit there staring and there's nothing else to do Oh it's in color Your hair is brown Your eyes are hazel And soft as clouds I often kiss you when there's no one else around I've got your picture, I've got your picture I'd like a million of them all round my cell I asked the doctor to take your picture So I can look at you from inside as well You've got me turning up and turning down And turning in and turning 'round Turning Japanese, I Think I'm Turning Japanese I really think so Turning Japanese, I Think I'm Turning Japanese I really think so I've got your picture, I've got your picture I'd like a million of them all round my cell I want the doctor to take your picture So I can look at you from inside as well You've got me turning up and turning down and turning in and turning 'round Turning Japanese, I Think I'm Turning Japanese I really think so Turning Japanese, I Think I'm Turning Japanese I really think so No sex, no drugs, no wine, no women No fun, no sin, no you, no wonder it's dark Everyone around me is a total stranger Everyone avoids me like a psyched lone-ranger Everyone Turning Japanese, I Think I'm Turning Japanese I really think so Turning Japanese, I Think I'm Turning Japanese I really think so Turning Japanese, I Think I'm Turning Japanese I really think so Turning Japanese, I Think I'm Turning Japanese I really think so Re: Yet another song "Turning Japanese" - Bob Schroeck - 11-18-2003 Quote:All this and more could be yours, if the Price is Right... The weirdest thing I have come up with was the song turning the Loon into a Japanese wearing a lone ranger outfit complete with mask, guns and silver bullets. The silver bullets would come in handy if he ever encounters a werewolf, but I think the loon would consider it a back fire most of the time. howard melton get well soon Re: Turning Japanese - Koryimran - 11-19-2003 The silver bullets would come in handy if he ever encounters a werewolf, but I think the loon would consider it a back fire most of the time. I wonder what ditties such as "99 bottles of beer on the wall" would do, especially when the Loon has had a little too much to drink. Thinking about that I'm surprised the Loon doesn't carry a mechanical music player for those times when electronics isn't available. He could have 3 or 4 such golden oldies stored on cylinders for a windup watch he bought on sherlock's home world. "here we go round the mulberry bush", "pop goes the weasal", "row row row your boat", "this old man he played knick knac", and "hey diddle diddle the cat with the fiddle". howard melton Get well soon Re: party songs - Ace Dreamer - 11-23-2003 Don't forget the "Crystal Ball with Clairaudience, Recording, and Playback" for those worlds where magic works but tech doesn't! [grin] (Good for blackmail as well...) Hmm. Is the Loon susceptible to barbershop quartets? Massed choral singing? Carol singers? [grin] Then, there are the songs of things like Sirens, Harpies, Lamia, etc. Christmas cards with built-in song chips??? [grin] I don't recall anything from the write-ups of how Doug's powers work about this, but does sticking his fingers in his ears and repeatedly chanting "I'm Not Listening" at the top of his voice do him any good? [grin] -- "It is the business of the future to be dangerous" - Hawkwind Re: party songs - classicdrogn - 11-24-2003 Quote:I think Bob's said before that acapella doesn't do anything for Doug, and given that he's been in a world where music correctly played *is* magic before Bob gave the answer here, I'd have to say that even magical singing wouldn't work for Doug unless it was accompanied with instruments. If it *was*... I dunno. That could be kind of scary, actually, espescially if it turned into a heterodyne/amplifier effect on something that already affects everyone in listening range. - CD -- "Anko, what you do in your free time is your own choice.
