Gateway to the SM Step - ordnance11 - 04-26-2008 This I believe (if Bob had not picked one yet) would be a dandy way to enter the SM step. The Rainbow Connection Why are there so many songs about rainbows and what's on the other side? Rainbows are visions, but only illusions, and rainbows have nothing to hide. So we've been told and some choose to believe it. I know they're wrong, wait and see. Someday we'll find it, the rainbow connection. The lovers, the dreamers and me. Who said that every wish would be heard and answered when wished on the morning star? Somebody thought of that and someone believed it. Look what it's done so far. What's so amazing that keeps us star gazing and what do we think we might see? Someday we'll find it, the rainbow connection. The lovers, the dreamers and me. All of us under its spell. We know that it's probably magic. Have you been half asleep and have you heard voices? I've heard them calling my name. Is this the sweet sound that called the young sailors. The voice might be one and the same. I've heard it too many times to ignore it. It's something that I'm supposed to be. Someday we'll find it, the rainbow connection. The lovers, the dreamers and me. The line about the "young sailors" almost calls for it. __________________ Into terror!, Into valour! Charge ahead! No! Otherwise, it'd be perfect. -- Bob --------- Then the horns kicked in... ...and my shoes began to squeak. - robkelk - 04-26-2008 That doesn't mean he won't try new songs for new powers, though. I picked up a slower song called "Rainbow Connection" while I was in that world's Manhattan. I knew after the first play-through that it would give me a power, but I never expected it to open a portal... Or something like that. 8) -- Rob Kelk "Governments have no right to question the loyalty of those who oppose them. Adversaries remain citizens of the same state, common subjects of the same sovereign, servants of the same law." - Michael Ignatieff, addressing Stanford University in 2012 - Evil Midnight Lurker - 04-26-2008 Surely he'd widen the search from time to time? --Sam "I think you're succumbing to the fallacy of the unbounded middle." Would he try it? - ordnance11 - 04-26-2008 Quote: Bob Schroeck wrote: If he get's the idea that rainbows are bridges to other worlds, he might try it. Certainly the Norse legend of the bridge connecting Asgard and Earth suggests it. "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" does suggest that. Though if he tries that song, he'd probably end up in Oz. __________________ Into terror!, Into valour! Charge ahead! No! It could happen any of those ways. -- Bob --------- Then the horns kicked in... ...and my shoes began to squeak. |
