Dragonforce Submission - Lyrics +Youtube video - Wiregeek - 08-12-2008 Quote:Lost in a dream Haven't analyzed this enough to think on what it'd do, too busy ROCKING OUT. So, DW readers, you tell me. "No can brain today. Want cheezeburger." From NGE: Nobody Dies, by Gregg Landsman http://www.fanfiction.net/s/5579457/1/NGE_Nobody_Dies - DHBirr - 08-13-2008 YouTube loads slowly on my machine. While I waited, I read the lyrics over a couple of times. (I notice that some of the lyrics in the middle didn't get sung.) The first thought I had about this was that it's another flight song. Then I saw "Rise above the universe tonight / Starchaser" and it occurred to me that this is an interstellar flight song, or at least FTL. There's a reference to traveling lightyears, which would support the interstellar interpretation. Also, some of the lyrics suggested to me that the flight power is not just for Doug, but enables others to fly, too, as long as they're with him, maintaining formation or something like that. When it actually played, nothing I heard contradicted those notions -- and the missiles flying at the very end of the video reinforced them. (The quasi-medical examination images in the early part, though, were just plain weird.) Up to Bob, and Doug's subconscious. But that's what I got out of it. Oh, and thanks, Wiredgeek. Whatever the final decision, this is an interesting song and I enjoyed listening to it. ----- Big Brother is watching you. And damn, you are so bloody BORING. - nemonowan - 08-16-2008 <br> - robkelk - 08-16-2008 That's easy for you to say, nemonowan... -- Rob Kelk "Governments have no right to question the loyalty of those who oppose them. Adversaries remain citizens of the same state, common subjects of the same sovereign, servants of the same law." - Michael Ignatieff, addressing Stanford University in 2012 - Bob Schroeck - 12-02-2009 Recently, a lot of songs along these lines have been saying "Sailor Moon Step" to me... -- Bob --------- Then the horns kicked in... ...and my shoes began to squeak. - DHBirr - 12-03-2009 "Good afternoon, ladies and cats, and welcome aboard the Colonel Douglas Q. Sangnoir Airline and Stormdoor Company, with service to the latest youma incursion...." ----- Big Brother is watching you. And damn, you are so bloody BORING. - Bob Schroeck - 12-04-2009 No, seriously... I don't know why, but every Manowar song I've listened to recently seems almost custom-fit for that Step, just to cite one example... -- Bob --------- Then the horns kicked in... ...and my shoes began to squeak. |
