Monstrous Charisma Booster - Black Aeronaut - 09-11-2010 For when you absolutely gotta make that rallying call... Kingdom (Restoration) by VNV Nation Our domain, this kingdom come now godless lands whose ways are lost. Without the strength to carry on. All values lost all virtue none. Did you think that you'd be saved by burning flags to cleanse yourselves of shame? Or are you afraid, are you afraid, as you stare back at your face? Or are you ashamed, are you afraid, by destroying what the gods once gave? Did you think you'd be saved? Do you think that you'll be saved? And I believe that we'll conceive to make in hell for us a heaven. A brave new world. A promised land. A fortitude of hearts and minds. Until I see this kingdom is mine, I'll turn the darkness into light. I'll guide the blind. My will be done until the day I see our kingdom has been won. No more the servants of the weak devoid of thought or light to seek. I'll leave no walls, no stone unturned. Every tower must be razed to the dust from which it came. None will be spared, no remnant saved. And are you ashamed, are you afraid, of the gods and idols you have made? Do you think you would be saved by the gods and idols you have made? None will be saved. None will be saved. None will be saved. None will be saved. None will be saved. None will be saved. Power up is simple - Doug gets such a monstrous boost in his charisma stat that goods will automatically look to him for leadership, non-aligned people might shift to his side. Bads will also need a Will save (or check? not too sure how it works) to avoid losing initiative. So... thoughts? - Bob Schroeck - 09-13-2010 And since the range is basically line-of-sight/line-of-voice, it's not too easy to abuse. I like this. Doug doesn't have anything quite like it in his repertoire yet. (It does remind me of an NPC we had -- Moonchild, whose only power really was massively heightened Charisma -- up into the 80s or more, as I recall. She could walk into a conflict situation and shut it down with a word.) -- Bob --------- Then the horns kicked in... ...and my shoes began to squeak. - Black Aeronaut - 09-14-2010 Thanks! I aim to please. BTW: you may wanna check out other stuff by VNV Nation. Let's try this one on for size, shall we? Savior (Vox) by VNV Nation As the stars appear I know I'll find you staring at the sky. Pointlessly reaching for some light You hope to guide your sorry way. Your body bleeding. Your body burned. Your body scarred. Around the cinder of your heart A God of love. A God of care. A God of hope. A God of words. A God as lost as you and blind to fill your hollow soul again. You seek a God to stand above you, wrapping healing arms around you. You'll find another God of pain, a God of suffering and tears. Give yourself unto your God. Sacrifice yourself again. Burn your thoughts erase your will to Gods of suffering and tears. Tie hallowed bonds around your hands. Kneel before this seat of shame to Gods as lost, Gods as blind, Gods of suffering and pain. (Bridge) A God of love. A God of care. A God of hope. A God of words. A God as lost as you and blind to fill your hollow soul again. The overall tone of the song is that of a desperate struggle. I can imagine Doug would be extremely reluctant to use this one, and would only use it if every last one of his tricks are used up. Power is to call upon the assistance of a God - whichever one happens to be available - in exchange for a service at some later point in time. Quid pro quo: as per the lyrics in the song, you gotta be beaten up six ways to Sunday for it to work. Sort of a check against frivolous use. - Bob Schroeck - 09-14-2010 I'll have to listen to the song first before I offer an opinion, and I don't have the time for that right now... but I'll do so, before the day is out, I promise. -- Bob --------- Then the horns kicked in... ...and my shoes began to squeak. - Black Aeronaut - 09-23-2010 Well, in case you haven't gotten around to it yet: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MFy730AY1Ec - Bob Schroeck - 09-23-2010 No, I haven't, thanks. (listens) And yeah, desperation invocation. That works. -- Bob --------- Then the horns kicked in... ...and my shoes began to squeak. Re: Monstrous Charisma Booster - Black Aeronaut - 08-12-2017 Bumping this because it's been on my mind lately. Thinking about Princess Serenity plus the recent debut of DW:S... I cannot help but think that playing this song will do one of several things, depending on the situation: 1) It summons a simulacrum of Wetter Hex at full power. 2) It summons a simulacrum of Princess Serenity at full power. 3) If things are REALLY bad, IT SUMMONS BOTH. Reason being that both are actually Goddesses that Doug has sworn himself to. And whoever is on the receiving end of this song is about to have a seriously bad day. Re: Monstrous Charisma Booster - itsune9tl - 08-14-2017 I could loop that. Wetter Hex provides Beat down, Serenity Heals it back up,... Wash, Rinse, Repeat... Cue Mad laughter...Any thing I write here may be used for content, unless used for personal gain, or used against the Grand Duchy of Fenewick. -- Never trust the Spell Checker, that correctly spelled word may not be the one you aimed for. Re: Monstrous Charisma Booster - Bob Schroeck - 09-09-2017 <chuckle>-- Bob --------- Then the horns kicked in... ...and my shoes began to squeak. |
