Yet another gate song... - robkelk - 04-21-2012 ... but nothing's going to stop Doug from getting through this gate. Fire, earthquake, the Sixth Fleet... none of them can stop this gate from being used. Colin James: Travellin' http://www.youtube-nocookie.com/v/As4QC ... 3&hl=en_US -- Rob Kelk "Governments have no right to question the loyalty of those who oppose them. Adversaries remain citizens of the same state, common subjects of the same sovereign, servants of the same law." - Michael Ignatieff, addressing Stanford University in 2012 - Bob Schroeck - 05-12-2012 I like it. The question is... where does it go? -- Bob --------- Then the horns kicked in... ...and my shoes began to squeak. - Ebony - 05-14-2012 This one popped up on the radio last night, and I had a chance to hear it all the way through (the version I own is a live version, and the band in question is a jam band, so they have a tendency to go off on tangents). "Willin'" by Little Feat I been warped by the rain, driven by the snow I'm drunk and dirty, don't ya know? And I'm still, willin' And I was out on the road, late at night I seen my pretty Alice in every headlight Alice, Dallas Alice And I've been from Tuscon to Tucumcari, Tehachapi to Tonapah Driven every kind of rig that's ever been made Driven the back roads so I wouldn't get weighed And if you give me, weed, whites and wine And you show me a sign I'll be willin' to be movin' well, I've been kicked by the wind, robbed by the sleet [ From: http://www.elyrics.net/read/l/little-fe ... yrics.html Had my head stoved in but I'm still on my feet And I'm still, willin' I smuggled some smokes and folks from Mexico Baked by the sun, every time I go to Mexico And I'm still An' I've been from Tuscon to Tucumcari, Tehachapi to Tonapah Driven every kind of rig that's ever been made Driven the back roads so I wouldn't get weighed And if you give me, weed, whites and wine An' you show me a sign An' I'll be willin', to be movin' If this doesn't work as a gate song, it could easily summon a semi truck (of an indeterminate make and model, since it's "every kind of rig that's ever been made") for Doug to drive. It will take him anywhere in the area laid out between Tuscon, Arizona; Tucumcari, New Mexico; Tehachapi, California; and Tonopah, Nevada (essentially across the American Southwest), by the back roads. Ebony the Black Dragon http://ebony14.livejournal.com "Good night, and may the Good Lord take a Viking to you." - robkelk - 06-17-2012 And another gate song... I just sent an email to DRAGONFLIGHT suggesting this be the gate song out of Mainframe, if we're serious about turning the ReBoot NanoStep into a full Stagger. If not, then it would work in any other world where Eimi takes a larger role than usual... http://www.youtube-nocookie.com/v/Zw5zt ... 3&hl=en_US "Come On Let's Go", recorded by Broadcast, written by Patricia Ann Keenan, James Cargill, Richard Bancroft Stevens, and Timothy Felton, published by Island Music / Unversal Music, copyright © 2000 Warp Records Limited. You won't find it by yourself You're gonna need some help And you won't fail with me around Come on let's go I will tell you if you change And who's been saying things It's hard to tell who is real in here Come on let's go You know who to turn to Now everything's changed Come on let's go Stop looking for answers In everyone's face Come on let's go What's the point in wasting time On people that you'll never know Come on let's go When you're looking for a friend But it's empty at the end When everybody's disappeared You won't be alone If you want I'll compensate If you over estimate So there's nothing left to fear You won't be alone You know who to turn to Now everything's changed Come on let's go Stop looking for answers In everyone's face Come on let's go What's the point in wasting time On people that you'll never know Come on let's go -- Rob Kelk "Governments have no right to question the loyalty of those who oppose them.
