Utility song: Light At The End Of The Tunnel from Starlight Express - classicdrogn - 09-26-2012

For those occasions when Doug is stuck with a preindustrial tech base and needs to bootstrap in a hurry, this song will allow him to shape appropriate raw materials (how raw is open to question) into a functional boiler and steam engine. Doing so for a half dozen horsepower unit suitable for a machine shop or good sized boat/tractor is about his limit without a node to draw on, due to the energy required to shape/temper/join/etc that quantity of material from scrap or ore.

I love these highly-focussed song ideas, because they show just how strange Doug's metatalent can get at times. It certainly complements Oingo-Boingo's "Weird Science" nicely.
