I am not certain if Doug would have to follow through if he invited someone -- or how that someone would react to a ... "platonic" one night stand.
I believe he could play this song and not invite someone without problems, however he would have to watch his words for implicit invitations.
Hmmmm ...what would have been his thoughts on finding out?

I suppose Doug might try this if Maggie was under some sort of emotion-draining effect that can only be broken by feeling strong emotion, and he'd used "I'll Play for You" to limit the effect to just her... but I suspect he loves his wife too much to use the song even in those conditions. So, one for the "Do Not Play" list.
But Bob might say otherwise...

Although I've played with the idea of Doug breaking his vow of fidelity once (and only once) in the Walk in a moment of weakness and need, it certainly wouldn't be this way. Yeah, it's on the "Do Not Play" list.
The generic "any mammal" condition I also find borderline squicky.
