Huh? It was just HERE... - Cobalt Greywalker - 02-14-2009 Bob, has there been any occasion where Doug's had to use a different portal to the one he came in through? I was thinking of something like a Nanoha-style dimensional distortion enveloping the site, or someone repairing the fabric of the universe at that point. - Bob Schroeck - 02-14-2009 Technically, every successful gate he opens is a different one from the others. If you mean different physical locations, yes, he's used different spots to open them in. Nothing you're describing breaks any of the fairly loose "rules" I have for his gates. -- Bob --------- Then the horns kicked in... ...and my shoes began to squeak. - Cobalt Greywalker - 02-14-2009 Right with the physical locations. Should have made that clearer. I vaguely remember something like that when Doug was monologuing/recording a report in DW II, but he used the same gate he came out of to leave in DW II and it seems to be implied in DW V he'll do the same thing there. Sure, it makes sense to use a known gate point (even with the possibility of backtracking), but we haven't seen him use a different on 'on screen' yet. Just wondering, thanks. - Bob Schroeck - 02-14-2009 He'll definitely be using different entry and exit points in DW X and DW XIII. The others I can't tell you yet. Remember also that Doug doesn't know for sure what factors affect his gate songs; he hedges his bets when he can. -- Bob --------- Then the horns kicked in... ...and my shoes began to squeak. |
