Plut Bunny - Death Note - Epsilon - 01-29-2009 So, I suddenly had a plot bunny for Death Note that wouldn't leave me alone. What if Light retained all his genius and planning skills... but instead of trying to create a "perfect world" with himself as god prefered to create a "perfect hell" with himself as the equivalent of Satan? So instead of targeting criminals, Light starts to target police officers, charity workers and other famous do-gooders and altruists. Sort of like "what if Light saw the world the same way as Heath Ledger's joker did?" That is, his goal is to basically break the world, not destory it but to eliminate "lies" like compassion and justice from the world? --------------- Epsilon - kentmagus - 01-29-2009 Target "dies in a perfectly dramatic and unsuspicious manner" - Necratoid - 01-29-2009 No, kentmagus... just no. If he is going to be like the Joker in question he'd have to want have people know about the people dieing... probably go for things like, the Red Cross Caravan containing X, X, and etc... is obliterated by a random Muslim militia attack... targets likely to make short live cameos are anyone in charge of the US military, that will let half the planet go utterly feral. Which will eliminate hoards and hoards of 'lies', from the world. Targeting the occupants of a helicopter and having them drop like flies and he can get the blame on the ones doing a perfectly good job of maintaining the things and/or making them. Any business that does lots of high profile charity work is suddenly taken down with high profile accidents and faulty products under massive lawsuits from advocate groups and wrongful death claims. Proper use of a Death Note in this manner would collapse governments and economies to crumble. Proper use in this manner would destroy society and turn us back to worst of the dark ages in distorted legend. It'd be dark depressing and basically be best off as a prologue to some messy dark hell future... or some multiseries crossover as X, Y, Q, M, H, and Z all try to occur the world... then get Death Noted if they do anything productive without being corrupt, evil, and cruel. - kentmagus - 01-29-2009 Never mind. Got confused. That was what I would do. Joker wants everybody to know about the deaths. - Shay Guy - 01-29-2009 "Whether the cause of the individual's death is either suicide or an accident, if it would lead to the death of more than the intended victim, the person will simply die of a heart attack. This is to ensure that other lives are not impacted." Pronounced "shy guy." - Necratoid - 01-29-2009 First... tht is why I stated it was all about the naming all the people involved (in either group or local)... Second... a battle of succession over who is incharge after the fact and the issues involved in constantly rewriting the chain of command that causes the issues... Second secondly, everyone on a helicopter spontaniously dieing of heart attacks would cause it to crash. Also, the Death Note doesn't actually care if random people die as the result of that person dieing, so much as the helicopter doesn't actually fall on anyone as a direct result of it crashing or the fires cased by the impact. |
