Gaijin's Realm goes home - ECSNorway - 06-02-2009 Mark Shurtleff - aka Togashi Gaijin - has finally bowed to what he sees as the inevitable, and officially abandoned his fanfic writing. Unfortunately this includes the rather well-liked "Relatively Absent", one of the more interesting Ranma/SailorMoon crossovers out there. -- Sucrose Octanitrate. Proof positive that with sufficient motivation, you can make anything explode. - Bluemage - 06-02-2009 Saw that one coming a mile away. Pity, though- some of his stuff should've been finished, including Relatively Absent. Maybe he'll miss it, and come back in a few years. My Unitarian Jihad Name is: Brother Atom Bomb of Courteous Debate. Get yours. I've been writing a bit. - ECSNorway - 06-02-2009 Yeah. Don't suppose anyone saved a copy of Relatively Absent? -- Sucrose Octanitrate. Proof positive that with sufficient motivation, you can make anything explode. - drakensis - 06-02-2009 He was rather opposed to that as I recall. D for Drakensis You're only young once, but immaturity is forever. - Xenoproctologist - 06-03-2009 Ah, the 'take your ball and go home' school of fandom exiting. It's certainly his prerogative to do so. That doesn't make it any less crap for those of us who's crystal ball didn't warn us that we needed to archive their site if we hoped to ever see those works again. New resolution: Spider Everything. I can't believe I'm considering whacking together a database system just for freakin' fanfiction... - Bob Schroeck - 06-03-2009 I have a copy, and at least one other fellow on the TV Tropes Wiki -- Comartemis -- does as well, and has volunteered to email it to anyone who wants it. I also have a copy of "Ten of Two", but I don't think I stored anything else of his... come to that, I can't think of anything else of his. -- Bob --------- Then the horns kicked in... ...and my shoes began to squeak. - ECSNorway - 06-03-2009 I'm sure you have my email, Bob. Please fill my box. -- Sucrose Octanitrate. Proof positive that with sufficient motivation, you can make anything explode. - Bluemage - 06-03-2009 Mine as well, if you would be so kind. My Unitarian Jihad Name is: Brother Atom Bomb of Courteous Debate. Get yours. I've been writing a bit. - Niteflier - 06-03-2009 May I add in a request for both RA and Ten of Two? drogan_niteflier@yahoo.com - Happerry - 06-03-2009 Could you give them to me as well? Happiers@hotmail.com - Epsilon - 06-03-2009 Perhaps send them to the guy at this site? ---------------- Epsilon - Morganite - 06-03-2009 Well, he doesn't specifically say that he doesn't want people sharing them by email, just that he doesn't want them on archives. Personally, I'm of the school that making such demands automatically causes me to lose the level of a respect for the author that would be required for me to do what they asked... -Morgan. - Happerry - 06-03-2009 I share that opinion. On the other hand I rarely archive stories, so I do not usually have the opportunity to do anything. edit: Wayback has the site thankfully. Edit-Edit: But only one of the stories sadly, Does anyone have Miko? - Epsilon - 06-03-2009 Eh. Once you make a story public domain, you don't get take backs. ------------------ Epsilon All fanfiction is public domain. - CattyNebulart - 06-03-2009 Correction, once it is on the net it will never go down, this is quite different from it being in public domain, though i agree the net effect is roughly the same, the differences only apparent after half a million in lawyer's fees. E: "Did they... did they just endorse the combination of the JSDF and US Army by showing them as two lesbian lolicons moving in together and holding hands and talking about how 'intimate' they were?" B: "Have you forgotten so soon? They're phasing out Don't Ask, Don't Tell." - Bob Schroeck - 06-03-2009 If I get a chance, I will forward copies tonight when I get home. And I will check my archives to find out if I have anything other than RA and TOT. -- Bob --------- Then the horns kicked in... ...and my shoes began to squeak. - NifT - 06-03-2009 And I'd like to add my name to that list of emails ^_^ tenkawa@comcast.net - Bob Schroeck - 06-03-2009 Quote:tenkawa@comcast.netAKITO! Bluemage, Norway -- if you could email me your addresses just in case I don't have them. At work I have no way of checking, and I'm feeling paranoid right now about it. -- Bob --------- Then the horns kicked in... ...and my shoes began to squeak. - Shinkaze - 06-04-2009 I'd appreciate it if you would send it to me as well(ranchaosson@yahoo.com), especially since Gaijin's Realm is no longer on the wayback machine. - Bob Schroeck - 06-04-2009 It disappeared from the Wayback Machine? Yow, he's quite determined to stalinize his fic writing, isn't he? Email has just been sent, btw. I hope I got everyone. -- Bob --------- Then the horns kicked in... ...and my shoes began to squeak. - Werehawk - 06-04-2009 Bob: Please send me a copy as well. I'm going to miss his stuff. --Werehawk-- My mom's brief take on upcoming Guatemalan Elections "In last throes of preelection activities. (what I have is two chapters, so unless there were more, that was all there was.) Also have the single chapter of Wyrm and eleven chapters of Relatively Absent.
