Ah, yes, I knew I had forgotten to post something. I heard about this on the ride home from work yesterday. Pickett was also known for the Star Trek parody recording "Star Drek".
On a slightly less sad note, Jack Valenti, noted anti-consumer shill for the entertainment industry and former president of the MPAA, the man responsible for the movie rating system, who once claimed the VCR would strangle Hollywood, died yesterday as well.
