Amelia Peabody Emerson False Alarm - DHBirr - 09-18-2008 I walked into my local Borders, and on the way to the Fantasy/SF section, glanced into the "P" section of Mysteries. Where I saw a new hardcover with the author's name Elizabeth Peters and a huge pyramid. Hard a-starboard, and grab. Oops. It's not a new Amelia book, it's a new Vicky Bliss. However, on skimming it (yes, and I look on the Internet for spoilers, too; what's your point?), I discovered that Amelia and Vicky are now part of the same continuity -- Vicky reveres Amelia -- and a descendant of Amelia actually makes an appearance in the story. Oh, well. Not as good as a new Amelia book, but better than nothing. ----- Big Brother is watching you. And damn, you are so bloody BORING. - Wiregeek - 09-18-2008 Edit: Wikipedia reveals the secret, as always. An intriguing series! Do you know of any ebook availability? "No can brain today. Want cheezeburger." From NGE: Nobody Dies, by Gregg Landsman http://www.fanfiction.net/s/5579457/1/NGE_Nobody_Dies - Bob Schroeck - 09-19-2008 Actually, I think Peters has been hinting that the two are in the same universe for quite a while now. But this would be the first hard confirmation. -- Bob --------- Then the horns kicked in... ...and my shoes began to squeak. - DHBirr - 09-23-2008 Ah. I haven't been nearly as faithful a reader of the Vicky Bliss stories as of the Amelia books, or I would've -- well, might've -- spotted those hints. ----- Big Brother is watching you. And damn, you are so bloody BORING. - Bob Schroeck - 09-24-2008 I'm not a reader of Vicky, myself, I am just relaying second-hand information I have received. -- Bob --------- Then the horns kicked in... ...and my shoes began to squeak. |
