Upload file, get figure... - robkelk - 01-11-2009

Well, not yet, but the tech for such a service is coming along nicely.

Hm. I don't see why you couldn't upload a file for a figure given their available tech and services.

There's
already a service to do this with your World of Warcraft character.

Less high-tech are the outfits that will do 12-inch action figures to spec: http://www.andgor.com/Personalized_Figu ... gures.html]Andgor Toy, http://www.uratoy.com]Uratoy.com.

Oh! And http://toybuilders.com/]Toybuilders will do the same, but also offer exactly the service we're talking about -- fabrication of toys from 3D specs. I'd forgotten about them.

I have these places in my bookmarks because years ago I once planned to give the Warriors folk custom action figures of their characters as Christmas gifts. I just never started the process early enough. Sadly, I don't think they'd have nearly as much cool factor now as they would have several years ago.
