That first one, particularly, reminds me of Tanith Lee's Red As Blood: Tales from the Sisters Grimmer. Or, to quote Cecilia Eng's song
about it:

Quote: Mirror, mirror, on the wall / Cannot see my face at all / My lips are red as the blood I crave / My hair as black as an empty grave.
These are very cool, thanks.

For whatever reason, it seems my ISP does not like that website. Sad

...For some reason, Belle scares me the worst.

Perhaps it's the contrast with the lovely hair.

"Yes, and it was glorious."

She more than a little resembles the girl from the Grudge, which freaked the shit out of me.

The thing that really makes the Snow White one scary to me is that I've read Girl Genius, and that one reminds me of an "Other" controled Agatha
with a pack of Jagenmonster ready to get medevial on your hiney.
Hear that thunder rolling till it seems to split the sky?

I just wanna know - Stephen Mann - 03-30-2009

How do these artists come up with these ideas in the first place?

I mean, what thought process leads to black-eyed Snow White holding a pack of monstrous dwarves by ropes wound around her lower arm?

- Black Aeronaut - 03-30-2009

He probably read the original Brother's Grimm tales. Not that they go like that... But those stories were DARK all the same. I recall hearing that in the
original version of Cinderella, her step-sisters went as far as cutting off their toes so they could fit their feet into the glass slippers.

What really caught me by surprise was the Sith!Mickey Mouse and the Gears-of-War!Mickey Mouse.

- Sweno - 03-30-2009

Toes and heals.

And I can't remember which story it was in, but one of them had the antagonist forced to dance in shoes of hot iron.

And of course, at the end of Aschenputtel (i.e. Cinderella), she had two ravens (or crows) peck out the eyes of the step-sisters. It's all good wholesome
fun, of course. Tell Disney to get the facts straight. ^_^

- The Hunterminator - 03-30-2009

I'm pretty certain that what woke up Snow White in the original version is her baby's suckling 9 months after the prince found her.

- Evil Midnight Lurker - 03-31-2009

That's Sleeping Beauty, actually.

Speaking of Sleeping Beauty, there's a new pic on the artist's site.
