[Where I Watch] Sailor Moon - Epsilon - 09-05-2009 So, over on the rpg.net Other Media boards(registration required), user Shadowjack has been watching the Sailor Moon anime from the beginning and giving a hilarious breakdown of each episode and his thoughts on the series as he goes. He just reached the end of the Jadeite arc which he capped off with this: ------------------- Epsilon Seriously, registration is free and this thread is worth reading form the beginning. It's hilarious. I also recommend [Where I Watch] Bleach - OpMegs - 09-05-2009 It's funny because it's true. "Our Lady of Smoking Craters" "Contestant #3: Rei, a Shinto maiden of local repute" "This leads me to the entirely logical conclusion that her husband is Cthulhu." *is dying* Okay, now I have to see the Bleach version. --- "Oh, silver blade, forged in the depths of the beyond. Heed my summons and purge those who stand in my way. Lay waste." - Bob Schroeck - 09-05-2009 Oh, that was the laugh I so sorely needed today. Thank you so much, Epsilon. -- Bob --------- Then the horns kicked in... ...and my shoes began to squeak. - robkelk - 09-05-2009 "so I know that this is Mamoru, dedicated trainspotter and Miami Vice fan." Oh, that's not fair... ...to trainspotters. -- Rob Kelk "Governments have no right to question the loyalty of those who oppose them. Adversaries remain citizens of the same state, common subjects of the same sovereign, servants of the same law." - Michael Ignatieff, addressing Stanford University in 2012 - DHBirr - 09-05-2009 If I had to pick a single favorite image from that, I think it'd be Rei starting a fire at age 3. ----- Big Brother is watching you. And damn, you are so bloody BORING. - Black Aeronaut - 09-05-2009 BWAAA-HA-HAAA! Rei-chan the little pyromaniac! That is SO going into DSKS! (^_^) - Bob Schroeck - 09-05-2009 Quote:If I had to pick a single favorite image from that, I think it'd be Rei starting a fire at age 3.I dunno -- three-year-old Usagi on a leash going "Doggy!" is pretty cute. The "Fate keeps shoving them" pic is good, too. He's right on the money, too, about Ami. I remember the episode where she beat the pants off of Mamoru in a one-on-one fight... -- Bob --------- Then the horns kicked in... ...and my shoes began to squeak. - Black Aeronaut - 09-05-2009 Quote: Bob Schroeck wrote:They don't use leashes like that here in Japan though - that seems to be an Americanism. Rather, I would imagine instead one of those Buttons-Chases-Mindy shorts from Animaniacs, with Usagi as Mindy and Tsukino-san as Buttons. - Evil Midnight Lurker - 09-05-2009 And I just noticed that this guy's Location field is given as "Santa Cruz County, California." I'll have to investigate... --Sam "Oh, there's crime here. I can smell it." - robkelk - 09-17-2009 I've been reading the "In Which I Watch Sailor Moon" thread... Today's bonus sketch, just before the satiric recap of episode 20, is a Crossover That Should Not Be: (Scary how well the correspondences work...) Edit: Speaking of satiric recap of episode 20: Quote:Rei /throws the ball at Usagi.-- Rob Kelk "Governments have no right to question the loyalty of those who oppose them. Adversaries remain citizens of the same state, common subjects of the same sovereign, servants of the same law." - Michael Ignatieff, addressing Stanford University in 2012 - Bob Schroeck - 09-17-2009 Okay, that's a win. -- Bob --------- Then the horns kicked in... ...and my shoes began to squeak. - Epsilon - 10-01-2009 More awesomeness from Shadowjack. ------------------ Epsilon - Jeanne Hedge - 10-03-2009 These are great! And I'm with Bob - they really turned around a lousy day for me. Thanks for posting this! Jeanne Hedge www.jhedge.com "Believe me, if I have to go the rest of my life without companionship, knowing myself won't be a problem." -- Gabrielle of Potadeia - Morganite - 10-04-2009 The red one that got tagged with a talisman is cute. '.' It'll be interesting to see once this gets to Sailor Stars... -Morgan. Actually, I need to see the rest of that myself. >.> - DHBirr - 10-04-2009 Mamoru (transformed to Tuxedo Mask): I'm sorry, this has never happened to me before... Girl he's in bed with: You don't say! Fortunately, I was smart enough not to have anything in my mouth when I read that. Oh, and Luna picking the girls up and dropping them in a shoebox.... ----- Big Brother is watching you. And damn, you are so bloody BORING. - Foxboy - 10-04-2009 I SWEAR I've seen the "Teasing Orson Scott Card" comic, except with "Lesbians" instead of "Gay Boyfriends" somewhere else... "'Overkill' is when you run out of 'kill' before you run out of enemies." - Bob Schroeck - 10-05-2009 I didn't get it myself, after reading the page. -- Bob --------- Then the horns kicked in... ...and my shoes began to squeak. - Evil Midnight Lurker - 10-05-2009 The elven wizard Vaarsuvius likes using the Explosive Runes spell; it creates a short message on any surface that goes BOOM when someone reads it. His standard message is "I prepared Explosive Runes this morning." ...Also, if you people haven't been reading Order of the Stick, START! --Sam "I am a SEXY SHOELESS GOD OF WAR!" - Morganite - 10-05-2009 I have a mental image of someone saying "See, this is why it's good to be illiterate!" -Morgan. - Epsilon - 10-28-2009 From part two of the Where I Watch, Sailor Moon thread by Shadowjack. --------------- Epsilon Please direct all praise to Shadowjack - DHBirr - 10-28-2009 Dralm help me, it's really hard to pick out a single favorite scene or line from this installment. It's all gold. Front-runners are Usagi and Rei arguing over their relationship with Mamoru; Beryl's line, "Once you go non-Euclidean, it's hard to go back"; Makoto's trouble finding a guy; and Ami's thoughts when invited to Makoto's kung fu class. ----- Big Brother is watching you. And damn, you are so bloody BORING. |
