*sigh* Facebook woes

Well.
I was checking my "spam filter" email address, which I've had since 1998...and I discovered that Facebook had sent me some "password
verification/change" notices.
This is odd because I've never signed up for Facebook.
Needless to say, I went to the site and took the effort to scrape the account and change my passwords... again. *sigh*
Any other security tricks I should undertake so these skript kiddies don't sign me up for credit cards?

It could well be the notices were phishing attempts. There's been a spate of them recently, and as you well know, you don't need to be on a service to
receive them.

Nope it was an actual Facebook profile, using my email addy. Ticked me off too. I'm just grateful it appears to be some idiot teenager rather than a
SERIOUS identity thief.

How did he even set it up? Facebook won't even set up a page without a verification via email. It sounds like he made a mistake when he changed his email
address and didn't bother to switch it back.

Uhm... You have been talking to the folks at Facebook about this, right? 'Cause ID theft of any sort is a serious offense, and this little wanker needs to
be taught a lesson before he/she goes and does something REALLY dumb.

More along the lines of I just don't care enough about facebook to scream at their people. I have no bank account for the parasite to wreck, my credit score is in the dumpster ANYWAY [And thus any false applications for credit cards in my name will get an "AHAHAHAHA... NO"]... so all I have to worry about is a sudden uptick in Viagra spam.
But seeing as it's no longer MLK day... I'll see if I can get in touch with them.
ETA: DAMN but do they make it hard to contact them without being signed up. Their site is as clear as mud for someone who has no account (anymore) with them.
